Recuerdo que algunas de las manzanas que tuvimos en la estación experimental de Cornell el año pasado tuvieron problemas similares: eran muy sensibles a los golpes y moretones.
Noten que, aparte de las “Arctic Apples”, todas las demás manzanas mencionadas en este artículo han sido obtenidas por métodos de cruce tradicional.

I remember that some of the apples we got at the Cornell experimental station last year had similar problems: They were very sensitive to bruises.
Notice that other than the Arctic Apples all the other apples here have been obtained by traditional breeding.

Traté de usar algunos ejemplos y argumentos que no veo comúnmente utilizados en los debates, y de enmarcar el tema en términos de riesgos reales e impactos ambientales de las cosas que hacemos porque no tenemos acceso a la biotecnología, en lugar de centrarse en los riesgos teóricos, nunca vistos.

I gave this talk a few months ago, here in San Francisco.
I tried to use some examples and arguments that I don’t see commonly used in debates, and to frame the issue in terms of actual risks and environmental impacts of things we do because we have no access to biotechnology, rather than focusing on the theoretical, never seen risks.
